Guentzel is a good player, but theres a legit question of "is he a creation of crosby or malkin" as opposed to being able to create offense himself. He's also a rental, which is pointless for the rangers moving 2 players with team control for at least 4-5 years.

Additionally Laf and Miller signing those deals, the rangers arent moving them.

Canucks easily decline. The reported ask for Demko is a 1st, blue chip prospect, and Raty like prospect. Vancouver has no reason to trade Demko unless it’s a massive overpay. You’d have to drop Hoglander and the 3rd, then add Pickering and Poulin and Vancouver might consider.
