Washington would need to add. Say what u want abt Millers contract but he's a legit top 6 forward, i'd argue a first line forward, that can play centre if needed, and he's passionate and just wants to win. Vancouver isn't gonna trade him just to trade him

Washington would need to add significantly. Oshie doesn’t really have a spot in Vancouver, as we already have too many wingers, and moving Miller makes Aman our 2C

There’s no basis for a trade with Oshie and Miller. Sorry.

Miller is a top line forward, Oshie is not. Sure Miller's contract won't age well, but the Canucks want to start competing, and trading a top line forward for a 36 year old about to retire does not help with that. Washington would have to add enormously

Much more. The Canucks are very high on Miller and would only move him if a good young centre came the other way

Caps probably don't do the trade. They are about to free up a ton of cash in 2-3 years. They won't want to get into a terrible long contract.

Caps would have to add. Vancouver really like Miller, enough that they chose him over our captain Bo Horvat. They want to compete, and trading our 2C for a winger when we already have too many wingers doesn't help that goal at all. Vancouver wouldn't have any interest in Oshie at all, as we don't have a spot on the roster for him and his age doesn't fit our core at all.

There were reports at the TDL around a deal of Miller to PIT for 2 1sts and Zucker, but Zucker was unwilling to waive for VAN and they couldn't find a 3rd team to reroute him to. If Vancouver was to move Miller, it would have to be in this kind of deal. Deal would need to involve either a young roster C plus other pieces or an overpay of enough high value picks to convince Van to part with Miller.

The only way this makes sense, is if multiple 1st round picks are going the other way. Canucks are taking almost $6M+ of dead cap for 2 years + giving up a 2C, 1st line winger. At minimum, it will take two 1st rounders + one of McMichael or Lapierre.

I doubt Washington does this, as they also have to rebuild soon. And they can't afford to make a big move like this, without sacrificing a lot of futures. Although I'm sure Ovechkin won't mind Caps going all-in. At the same time, Canucks will also lose this trade, as they will have another bad contract on the books when they are trying to win, with no replacement for JT Miller. 30+ goals and 80+ points are hard to replace. They'd have to flip the Washington picks for immediate help, and find a creative and cheap way to off-load Oshie to Arizona, Anaheim or Chicago.

Maybe if a 3rd team retains 50% on Oshie (lets say Anaheim, and they get compensated with two 3rds, one from each team), this could work. It will give Vancouver a cheap winger, who they can always trade if things don't work out, as his cap hit won't be an anchor anymore. But I still don't see Caps giving up this many futures, with Ovi close to retiring

Caps have to add significantly. I hate millers contact but he would give us a significant boost in offensive production when we need it.

Say this was possible and the Canucks didn't have a surplus of additional wingers etc etc

Washington would have to add a 1st and likely one of Lapierre/Chesley too.
