I Highley doubt MTL moves 5th OA for Zegras. Maybe for McTavish, but not for Zegras

Anaheim really should keep Zegras. He has been one of the most exciting and entertaining players in the league over the past 2 years. Of course his point totals haven't taken off yet, but he has the skill set to be a very good super star.

I would pass if I were Anaheim. Creating around Zegras and Mctavish is what they should do.

Yeah I understand but it would be such a Kent Hughes move at the draft
I would be ready to trade a good prospect like Sean Farrell to ANA to make it happen but they take Mike Hoffman contract (one year)

That's actually a very smart trade for both. Zegras and Caufield together would make dreams come true in MTL.

ANA is better off continuing to rebuild through the draft instead of wasting Zegras, because they are too far away at this point.

I am excited to see what Montreal does. They are ALOT closer to competing then people are giving them credit for.

Zegras + Caufield on the same team would be nuts.

zegras is like 21, he's not getting wasted any more than caufield (who is the same age) is by montreal

I know Zegras is overrated but he is indeed spectaculor
Imagine MTL comes out of day 1 with Zegras & PLD

MTL are a lot closer to be competitive than ANA
+ ANA only have Terry on the wing, while they will have Fantilli McTavish down the middle
MTL could add a good winger prospect to make it happen
I think honestly it make sense for both teams

I'm not a Habs fan (kinda the opposite) but seeing PLD, Zegras, Caufield, Suzuki, etc... etc... all on one team? I would want to watch that team. So much fun.

That trade is insane. Why in the world would you give up Zegras to have the opportunity to draft someone who can't even be here for the next 3 years while having Fantili. Never do that trade.

LMAO the people like you
ANA are at the start of their rebuilt, they have ONE top 6 winger (Terry)
Trading Zegras (natural Center) for a winger who have a higher ceiling than Zegras could be a good idea (especially if ANA management are high on him)
MTL add a really good prospect like Sean Farrell to make it happen
You know most prospect takes more than 3 years before being NHL regular ?

Dude just no. Okay here's the equivalent for you. Montreal Trades Subban in 12 for a shot at drafting Matt Dumba in 2012. You wouldn't do that

I think the 5th overall pick in 2023 has more value than zegras, maybe if he has a 8x5.75M extension I'd do it

Can save Comtois. I don't think Seattle qualifies Sprong and instead let him test the market. If the market brings him back to Seattle then so be it.

I'm not a Ducks fan, but seriously, what's the long-term plan of having Zegras, Mctavish, and Fantilli/Carlsson? Obviously one of them will have to move to the wing and it won't be the centre drafted this year. This trade gives you the opportunity to draft the best Russian prospect since Ovi. This would be a no-brainer for ANA imo, but I'm not sure MTL would do it.

disagree, the ducks have more high-end talent in their system and imo zegras can succeed on the wing. their d-prospects are really good so in a year or two when those guys are all up they'll be pretty competitive. don't think montreal (personally) has so much more that they'll be better sooner, and i think the ducks have a higher ceiling than montreal does right now.

i mean this is just insane, he had 65 points in 81 games on a terrible team this year and is only going to get better

Now that we absolutely do not agree on.

One of Zegras, McTavish, or Fantilli can move to the wing. It's probably Zegras, he's been rather terrible in the faceoff circle and doesn't have as much size. Maybe it's McTavish. We have options, trading away the poster boy of our franchise is simply not happening.

Mitchkov is way too risky to draft. He probably falls to the Caps and they only take him due to their vast experience with Russian players.

Ducks would be stupid to trade Zegras for a player who may never even come to North America.
