Sooooo…….. what exactly does Carolina and Calgary wants for Pesce and Hanafin? Lol. I’m sure a dozen teams could beat these offers, but it’s nice seeing that top 4 on paper. I’ll go back to the video games now 😂

I believe you are correct, but with him being out until Dec/Jan I can’t see Vancouver wanting to pay him that. Not sure if they are going to arbitration or not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a deal like this is done instead of signing a longer/larger deal.

I’m assuming CAR would want a Hoglander/Lekkerimaki type player in return?

That is a significant overpay. Would need to be changed a bit, but yes, trade down, let me get that 11th overall pick! haha

I would assume the ask would be a 23 first and a top prospect as the starting point for negotiations.

Well, if he is on LTIR that whole time, his cap hit would be prorated anyway. So, $2.2M would only end up being like $1.2M or something along those lines.

The trades for Pesce and Hanfin seem fair enough but, that is a lot to give up for 2 defensemen who are more than likely to leave after that 1 season, you must really think you have a chance at winning the cup to give that up.
I don't think you get that favorable of a deal for Garland.
You also don't have a 3rd line center.
I like the creativity though.

Trades wouldn’t happen unless extensions were in place. Forgot to put that in there. Oops!! Would be very difficult seeing as Hronek, Hanafin, and Pesce would all be expiring, not to mention EP40s new deal.
But I agree, it’s a very steep price, but if Vancouver is going (once again) into win now mode, those are the types of players/deal needed to improve the team.

Theres $7m+ to get a 3C, I just didn’t sign one.

Actually. I just added it up using a pick value chart, and it comes out to around a late 2nd early 3rd in value for Garland on top of the pick swap. So, Idk, I guess that depends on what VAN wants for Garland and what CHI is willing to pay for him. Personally, I don't think that is an awful price. I'm just not sure CHI, specifically, would actually be interested in him at that price, or how eager CHI's actual front office is to trade up. I know I would probably do this, or something close to it.

Need 23 first and a top prospect if it’s not for a top 6 winger so they can use those assets to go get one.

Nucks won't trade down. They're selecting a player with that pick now that they have immediate cap relief.
