Take out rosen or the first and add an extension in place

Any Pesce trade likely has a related extension, so I didn't feel the need to state it. I'd imagine that the Oilers are offering Broberg + 1st, so Rosen + 1st makes sense as an asking price. Canes could change that to a 2025 1st considering that the Sabres are on the verge of actually breaking through as a playoff team and the 2025 pick is therefore likely to be later.

Feels a bit of a lateral result with all the moving pieces. Not to mention Jarvis is much younger. Why not just move for Fabbro and collect assets from Pesce?

The way I see it is that the difference between joker and pesce is either the first or a prospect like Rosen, not both.

Keller is a major upgrade from the current rendition of Jarvis, especially from a goal-scoring perspective (by far the biggest need on the team), and has five seasons remaining. Canes likely are willing to pay the moon to get that final piece.

I feel like injuries were the issue, not so much lack of goal scoring. But, I can see the reason to go for it.

Canes aren’t moving Jarvis, but I imagine Keller would be a big target.

I imagine that St. Louis would be offering their three 2023 1sts to get Keller. In a situation like that, I would think that Carolina would need to offer Jarvis to outbid such a package.

Sometimes a team is willing to move more than you are. And that’s the situation here. Move two firsts and a high end prospect or some other pieces and hope that’s enough to get Keller. If not shift to Cat for a first and a second and another piece and go get middle 6 size on top of that.

Shouldn’t be moving all those assets for Keller.

The Blues are ABSOLUTELY NOT doing that. Friedman is totally full of ****, as usual. The Blues do not have the need or the cap for Keller, so the runway is clear for you. You don;t need to overpay like this.
