I'd be amazed if Willander drops out of top 15 and I'll go insane if he isn't drafted at 17 if he does drop

That's a reasonable place to pick him, however I'm not sure he falls that far with the recent (surprising and unwarranted) hype he's been getting...

There's no shot they graduate together lol. I'd be surprised if Hutson isn't signed next year, and if Willander plays 3 years. Lot of top college prospects, especially D leave early.

You're not wrong but this is all assuming he transitions to Smaller Ice's speed and physicality.
Also that Jay Pandolfo doesnt run a 3 pair D system (which he does) so outside PP they likely wont be paired.
Not unless Wallander is good enough defensively to cover Hutson better then Ty Gallagher (and he's a Priority being a Bruins pick developing in Boston)

26.

That is far too much to give up (over double the draft value chart) including a 2nd rounder in Kapanen that can be a shutdown center.

Kapanen won't be anything in the Habs system, same as Mysak and Norlinder. Too many prospects ahead of them.

Even taking out Kapanen. Draft value chart is at 3.3 for the 26th overall. The picks you are giving up equal over 4 in value. Adding the Mtl 4th is more than enough forget the 3rd to move up 5 spots. Its not a good spot to move up. Willander is gone by pick 15.

Kapanen is so underrated. I see him as a Beck but no one talks about him because he plays in Europe

I still skate Xhekaj beside Hutson and take no chances.
Xhekaj had his career best year on RD most important his Partner went from maybe top 100-150 CHL Defensman to the CHL player of the year.(even got signed undrafted a year after Xhekaj joined their team)

He's a great guy to spring a mobile D in the NZ while staying close enough to F anyone up who takes liberties on him.
It fixes our LD cluster and allows us to keep our size distributed on all pairings.
Issue becomes it would require Kovacevic to continue to grow and Barron would have to step up the whole season at the NHL level not just the last 3 months of the season.
What about Savard? he'll be moved by TDL for a 1st + cause when we RS at 1,75m cap with ab additional year after and is the ideal time to sell him
