2. The Habs lose nothing in this deal since PLD is the property of the Jets anyway
3. The Habs keep their own assets and save 8.5 mil + on the cap for the next 8 years.

If you really wanted to screw the Habs, the way to do it is to actually hope Montreal trades for him then signs him to an 8+ mil contract.

Just for the record, Winnipeg doesn't own enough assets to purchase the second overall selection in this draft from the Ducks. Rentals like DuBois, Scheifele, Wheeler and Hellebuyck are of absolutely no use to us.
