I am not really sure anyone should try to move up because it is so costly and there is a chance that #5 cold be better than #2 and then you have really messed up the future.

Arizona probably the only team that has the elc and draft capital assets to get into top 3, Cooley with 6 or 12 probably cracks into top 3. New gm in Anaheim probably doesn’t go quantity over quality on his first big move of the regime. Chicago not trading out, neither is Columbus. Sj probably not either. Montreal not sitting in a bad spot, possibly upgrade that Florida pick and a couple assets not too far away.

I have seen multiple posts where you consistently (I think) reject Fantilli trades, which is fine. I might too if Montreal was slotted at #2.

I am not sure if you watched the World Junior Hockey Championships or not, but did Fantilli's performance at that (7 games played with 2 goals and 3 assists) and at the World Hockey Championship this year (10 games played with 1 goal and 2 assists) cause you any concern??

I am NOT saying that Fantilli won't be a very very good player, but sometimes I wonder if he is a little overhyped. There is no doubt that his NCAA season was fantastic and he has all sorts of talent/tools, but I do remember watching him at the World Juniors and wanting him to be a little bit more noticeable for Canada (obviously Bedrad stole the show and everyone on those teams come in as big scorers but they still have to fit their role, so that may have played a part in it).

No, this isn't close. If I could guarantee Michkov is available AND the Ducks take him at 5, it changes things, but that is extremely far from a guarantee, so I would need 5+Cole or MAYBE Suzuki/Slaf for 2, nothing else.

Michkov is considered to be better than Fantilli and the only reason the draft order has him dropping is cause of the KHL contract and Russian factors, if not for those Michkov would be the hands down 2nd OVA pick and it's not even close. Therefore Michkov > Fantilli adding PLD would be like Fantilli + Zegras skill wise. Not saying the Ducks are interested in moving 2nd or in Michkov just saying that you aren't even close when you say Fantilli is better than Michkov + PLD

The common denominator of all cup winning teams is having a a superstar center. Fantilli would go #1 overall most drafts. Dubios is a high end 2C and as good as Michkov will be, Fantilli will be just as good and he’s a center.!

caufield won't be traded so soon after an extension.

The surplus value of 8 ELC+RFA years on fantilli is massive
