Not sure San Jose does it, Walsh is unproven at the nhl level and is 24.

Henry Thrun is unproven too.

Very plausible deals…but since Hellebuyck is seeking such a big extension, it’s hard to imagine NJD is place for him. That is just my hunch, but know rumors say otherwise.

we'll give you a pick or two. Milano just got re-signed and the organization is high on him, he's not moving this summer

teams will easily offer more for helebuyck than that. guy has been a top 3 goalie for the last 5 years and will continue for the next 5 years

3rd in 25 I would say yes! He has a good AHL record but there isn’t a path to NHL in NJ. Walsh looks like he could develop into a solid 2nd or 3rd pair guy but needs a chance.

…and his name popped up in Timo talks as alternative to Okhotiuk and San Jose passed then. He is a pretty solid player that the analytics love. But needs to be proven up at NHL level unless your team is fully bought in on the fancy stats.

I am hoping NJD slots him into 3RD for a year and moves him whenever Nemec is ready.

Not so sure, he is a rental at this point with a very high contract demand (looking for Bobroskvy money) and 8-10 mil is a lot for a guy who will be 31 when his next contract kicks in.

I wanted him to be a throw in for the Meier trade as well. He has skill and I would love to take that shot! We need a young RD who is NHL ready and that’s a reasonable ask.

look what colorado had to give up for darcy kuemper and he’s not even half the goalie helebuyck is, kuemper got a first plus a b prospect, helebuyck will get a first plus an A prospect at least

I can see that, but is that a good fit for NJD who are looking to grow their playoff window not go all in for 1 season.

Colorado wasn’t sending back a goalie though. Vanacek would take the place of the prospect. Maybe add a small piece or two…but VV+1st should cover most of the bill.

I see both points! But a 3rd rounder typically has a slim chance of being an impact player. Walsh has looked good in the AHL and deserves a shot. Sharks have a need for RD (especially if we do trade Karlsson) the risk is worth the reward IMO.

including the conditional 2024 2nd to 1st on the ACGM is just unnecessarily teasing both NJ and SJ fans

could definitely see the caps being interested in sharangovich but if they are its for mid-round picks and not milano. they're not going to trade a guy they just extended on a better contract than what sharangovich is probably going to get
