Thats a fair point, but you gotta think too if getting a 1st in next year's draft as good as getting one in this draft which is exceptionally deep and each year you wait to trade him is another year where you wait on your first-round prospect to be ready.

I agree with you 100%. Between now and the TDL is when he should get traded. PHI can't waste a year of his eligibility. He also needs to retain 50% to maximize value. WAY too many teams trying to win now that don't have cap space.

That's a poor deal for STL. Laughton is a solid 3C. Nothing special. Sound defensively and average at best offensively. Maybe two seconds or one of the later firsts.

Briere is turning down deals before the NHL Draft as a way to start a form of a bidding war for Laughton. Its a strategy that could backfire, but this deal will likely happen if nothing better comes up at the draft.

Flyers main insider tweeted that they had turned down multiple deals for 1st rounders then clarified on his podcast some where recent, Pagnotta tweeted that the Sens had serious interest in him, Freidman said on his podcast that the Leafs had an offer of a 1st turned down for him. Like sorry fans don’t think Laughton is worth that much (I even agree I think Danny should have jumped at any 2023 1st offered) but clearly GMs think differently. I just think it’s hilarious to watch Blues, Sens, and Leafs fans on here have a meltdown that every insider is apparently lying about it lol, cause ya know every insider is actively looking to help the Flyers and want clicks.
