No thanks on Olofsson. Cap hit is too big and Guerin doesn’t trade 1st or 2nd round picks for rentals.

Ryan Johnson is not as good as Murphy, and he plays the opposite side. I've watched him play a lot for Minnesota, and he is very promising, but he will not be able to jump in at the NHL level and play the right side. So, that is apples and oranges.

Hawks probably decline. Murphy probably doesn't get moved this season unless it's a significant overpay. This is a strong offer, but not enough for Hawks to move Murphy now.
