Why are you trading Norris? He can't be replaced by Pinto. Not comparable at all. Ottawa is looking to compete and their heavy claim on that is the solid C core of Stu, Norris, Pinto and Kasty. Removing Norris was the issue Ottawa didn't succeed last year. Having him back is one of the biggest reasons we should succeed this year.

So the trade is only good if they can flip Miller. Pretty risky considering they've openly tried already and were not able to get what they wanted. they'd still be stuck with a long risky contract when you consider Norris' durability, as you mentioned.

I love Norris, but that kid isn't built to last and I wouldn't give up our 2023 1st for him. Our prospect cupboards are BARE!!

Norris is also a great 2-way center, he faces top competition night after night and comes up on top pretty often. Pretty solid on face-offs too

His contract is also much better and he is 3 years younger

Ottawa can't do this, even if the 1st makes it very interesting

Not denying the Norris is a great player. Just too much of an ask IMO. And all shoulder injuries is a red flag.

Tampa declines. A 5th is meaningless and a 1st in '25 doesn't do much for Tampa either given their current win now position. If Colton is getting moved, it needs to be for players that help Tampa now and at positions of need.

Kuz is also a great player but contracts makes it not smart for Ottawa that has been trying to get out of the rebuild

And yes the shoulder injuries could be a worry but we have no idea about that, it depends on the medical due diligence
