There is no chance we make most of these moves and I’d be shocked if Petry is agreeing to leave for SJ AND they’d add a young goalie.

Yet Bailey was dumped for a 2026 2nd and Granlund would cost 800k to buy out. It's a Davidson move.

Difference is Bailey's hit falls off in two seasons, if they traded for Granlund to buyout he'd remain on their books until 2026/27. I'm not saying Chicago would buyout Granlund but i think you have to spend a 2nd as NYI did with Bailey.

Bailey had one year left and a significantly cheaper salary and therefore a cheaper buyout. Granlund has two years left and is a lot more expensive, the first year of his buyout cap hit aside the other 3 years are still pretty expensive. Sure, it's a Davidson move, but it will still cost PIT more.

If this is how you want to look at it, the total cap hit for the Bailey buyout is like $3.8m. Granny's total cap hit from a buyout is $6.3m. Again, considerably more than Bailey.
