Swayman will get more money, but I also don’t want to trade Tarasov. I find him to be extremely talented and could be a top goalie in the league if he can stay healthy.

That offer doesn't get Swayman and for $1.8 million, Boston would have signed Swayman yesterday.

I like the concept of a stop-gap 1C option, but Kuzy concerns me. For a team that just fired their coach and noted how they felt bad locker room vibes, not sure I want to invest in a guy who has a reputation of causing trouble.

Frankly, I think Lindholm can be gotten for , and signed for, less than Dubois - trade for him, let him reunite with his bud Johnny, and shelter Fantilli for a year until he’s 1C ready. Long-term have Fantillli-Lindholm-Voronkov-Kuraly as the spine. Let KJ run amok on the wing, and finally rescue Boone’s back by moving him to the wing and lowering his playing time.

I’m not opposed to moving Boqvist and Chinny. Boqvist is an offensive-D who needs to be higher in the lineup and playing with T6 guys, not a third-pair guy who will inevitably be playing mostly with the B6 Fs. but with Jiricek and Severson he’s not going to get that, so I’d move him sooner rather than later. Honestly, I trade them for futures and keep those assets as trade bait moving forward.

I wouldn’t move out 2 young potentially key players (boqvist and chin) for a stop gap center. Worst case run out roslovic next year and keep our young guys.

Roslovic would need 50% retention for that to even work financially, before adding more for Boston to make the deal. The whole reason they'd move a goalie this year is because of the cap, so taking on a 4 mil 3C is completely counterintuitive to that. For CBJ though, retaining on him likely doesn't get them under the cap with the other moves you've got, so there'd either have to be a 3rd team involved who gets paid to eat the retention, or Roslovic getting dealt somewhere else in a separate deal.

If Swayman would take that little though, Boston basically has 0 incentive to move him. Only way I could see something like this going down is if you send Roslovic somewhere else instead for the cap to work and then add (not sure how much exactly) to Tarasov. Then give Swayman a contract that actually makes sense which would probably just fit under the cap.

In the Kuzy front though, I think that's too much for him, at least with the full contract. With like 1.5 maybe 2 mil or retention MAYBE I could get behind it, but both Boqvist and Chinakov is too rich like this. I've seen some wildly varying values for Kuzy on this site so it's a bit up in the air, but I think either one of those 2 guys and maybe a mid round pick is a fair return for Kuzy without any retention.

I'm in agreement with your points on the short term C mostly. I've got some concerns about Kuzy, but now that they have Fantilli who sounds like he'll play this year, I'm more comfortable grabbing him as a 2 year player here than I was before. I think a reasonable deal for Lindholm can still be had too, and I wouldn't feel that an extension is a necessity anymore. The cost on that deal would obviously need to make sense though, unlike most of the ones we see on this site.

Same thoughts on Boqvist and Chinakov. I do think the have a chance to see a lot of development from Chinakov this year if they start him in Cleveland and give him a solid ~3 months to really find his game and get confident, so I'm not as into moving him, but it's not something I'm exactly against. I'm sorta in the camp to start, and potentially keep Jiricek in Cleveland this year and just really make sure you let him grow and don't risk hurting his development, so I think you've definitely got room for Boqvist in the lineup for now and it seems like his value is pretty insulated as well. Unless he's injured (which wouldn't be a shock), I don't see his value goi.g down between now, the TDL, or next offseason. He's really good running PP2, on his own or with Severson in a 2D setup. I do think he's likely to be phased out by next year though unless something unexpected happens. Basically, I think you hold him till a deal you really like comes along and the lineup isn't crammed to the point we need to move him at thr first reasonable offer.

Big overpay for Kuz after seeing what RyJo and Kevin Hayes got Kuz will need half retention to get anything of value. Caps won’t be trading him since they need the cap
