That's a great contract for JVR. Don't think it pushes Boston back into a playoff spot if Krejci and Bergeron leave though.

A good signing. JVR still has some gas in the tank and when put in the right role he should be able to succeed. He can't be your 1st line winger anymore, but as a middle six option he should excel. For just 1 year and 1 million, not much can go wrong here.

I'd expected to see him signing a 2.0M-2.5M/1 year. That's a steal to me. There's no way to miss this shot, even if JvR plays terrible. Then Boston will bury him to the minors.

TBH I think they make the playoffs even if Krejci and Bergeron leave ... even if JVR ends up not being a fit AND those guys leave, I think they're too good not to make the playoffs.

I don't know. They lost Bergeron/Orlov/Krejci, and Marchand is another year older. Not sure if I agree.

Yeah, good point. But they didn't have Orlov for most of this past season.
