Voting no because Avalanche give him 2nd line TOI. He would be a good #7, but he's overplayed.

Avalanche overplayed him out of necessity due to injuries on D

Poor hot take

He plays well enough, is cheap, and the guys on the team love him. He played well enough as the no. 6 to win the Cup. It's just a good fit in Colorado.

He plays bottom pair and PK if the roster is healthy. Clearly below Makar, Toews, Girard, Byram, Manson.

If he’s ever playing noteworthy minutes, it’s because injuries force the Avs to slot MacDermid in the lineup, who cannot play NHL minutes.

I'm happy this guy is still getting contracts and playing decent enough..after what happened to him, shows how much character he has to rebuild and keep going after it

He'll switch out as 6th D with Sam Malinski and provide veteran presence and locker room leadership

No real great options left in FA so go with what we know.
