if Carolina needed the cap space why wouldn't they just send Pesce and Teuvo to SJS?

Pesce wont go there because he has half the league on his NMC

I do like the MTL trade and wondered the other day if this exact trade would be possible. Both players need a fresh home.

That's fair, they can easily trade him elsewhere and then send picks + Teuvo to SJS though. Would like to get Teuvo but idk i just don't see that.

Probably depends on Vladdy actually signing and Svech health. Unless the canes are really intent on getting EK (which I’m hoping against) it doesn’t really make sense to move turbo. Would rather keep him on third line and as insurance for any top 6 injuries. More valuable than a mid round pick or something like that.

I think he makes the most sense to move for cap relief, especially if they get Karlsson.

Pesce makes more sense to me since he’d be the 3RD at that point and you also have chatty and potentially tda for that role. If you need more space then I agree turbo would be next to go. I still hope it doesn’t happen though.

-I think if the Hurricanes move Turbo they get back a better return; at the very least I think Pittsburgh would have to pay the in-division tax here.

-No idea why Montreal would do this without a sweetener - Granlund is older and more expensive than Dvorak. They're basically the same player, with the difference that Dvorak is at least somewhere in the ballpark of Montreal's eventual contention timeline.

-Last summer it cost the Rangers a pair of 2nds to dump 2x$2.5M of Patrik Nemeth. Not sure why it would cost the Pens so much less to dump 2x$2.75M of Rutta.

-Seattle would take this, I assume - they've got the space and Petry is still a decent player. I don't know if Jeff is waiving for Seattle, though.

-I take this deal if I'm the Jackets. Trade from your surplus of RHD and get an interesting young LHD. Win for both sides, IMO.

-I don't think Carter waives to go finish out this contract on the Ducks. If he does, I don't see Anaheim sending any sort of draft capital back - a 2nd rounder for just under $5M in cap relief feels fair.
