why not just wait one more season and then be able to sign someone like Saros or Sheshterkin in Free Agency instead of giving up valuable assets?

No chance the Jets are getting that much for Hellebuyck.

The market cooled for him once GMs heard what he wants for his next contract which is a ridiculous amount, Friedman said that on a Jets focused podcast recently.

Also just looking at it logically there really isn't a lot of teams that'd be looking for a goalie now that we're a few days into free agency and some potential suitors for Helle locked up other options.

Honestly the only teams I could see having serious interest in Helle are NJ and Buffalo.

One other team I could eventually see calling about Hellebuyck would be LA once they realize they have the worst goalie tandem in the league 10 games into the season... 🤣

Whatever happens I just hope the Jets don't resign Helle, his next contract is gonna be bad, get a decent return whatever it is and move on.
