Anaheim will need more incentive than a fifth-round pick to take on Six Million Dollar Man Matt Murray and use up a roster slot on him. We can't buy him out like you can.

We could trade John Gibson and still be unable to avoid the cap floor. Know what you're talking about, or you'll end up sounding dumb.

Actually, you would be able to buy him out with Terry electing for Arbitration, you will have another buyout window open 4 days after his arb hearing.

Hmmm, let's see . . . $47.2 million over 15 roster slots plus Trevor Zegras plus Troy Terry plus Jamie Drysdale plus Lukas Dostal plus 4 more players = hard to see how we would need even $1 to reach the cap floor.

Wrong. The second buyout window is only for a player on the team's roster as of the prior trade deadline.

Most of these are terrible for TO. The flames one and maybe the Anaheim one are the only ones good for TO. The Philly one is truly awful. How is a 2nd pair defender and a 3rd liner worth a top line elite player? And you want to add a guy who's been better defensively than Sanhiem for years? Horrible for TO

You also only have 1 goalie on the roster and their are rumors Gibson wants out. I know he denied the rumor but why not trade him? You are still a ways away from contending and Murray is definitely still an NHL goalie when healthy. He had some really good games last year prior to hurting his ankle and trying to play through it.

Peeke was -41 last year.... Not a player I would like to pair with Mo., or be on any top unit. Especially with Klingberg on a 2nd unit.

Overall, values are definitely off.

Keep Timmins and swap in a 3rd or 4th round pick instead and Columbus accepts.

Hey! I was more convinced than anyone else on the planet that Los Angeles would never trade for Pierre-Luc DuBois. Your muff (I wouldn't even call it an error) pales in comparison to that.

Ignoring the quite off value in your trades: While I like Sanheim, he is NOT the type of D that the leafs need.

Fortunately he's only 4.6 million Matt Murray as Ottawa retained 1/4 (still needs more than a 5th)

I'm referring to his actual salary, which is $8 million (!) this season, of which Toronto owns 3/4, hence my figure. I'm very conscious of this because Anaheim operates on an internal cap that is rumored to be 5% to 7.5% lower than the actual cap ceiling.

Honestly I was actually surprised you had made the "mistake" on his AAV in the first place. I really should have had more faith in you. Lol. I've disagreed with you occasionally but I've rarely caught you in a mistake

We learn more from disagreements than we do from agreements, so feel free to take issue with me anytime. I have found every opinion of yours contrary to mine worthy of consideration and respect.

Just don't say John Gibson hasn't been good for three or four years. I'm touchy there.

I imagine there are teams that would give him a shot of the cost isn't too high. But GM's are funny. I bet Murray is traded for much less than anyone thinks. He may even bring back a late round pick.
