I'm just ready for this whole saga to be over. Somebody tell Steve to just make the deal and back the Brinks truck up already

From what I have seen online the best Sens could do is Berggen and Bostons 2024 1st. The hold-up is that Debrincat won't agree to the contract that Wings want to give him.
His original ask was 8 x $9M which no one is doing right now, I saw a couple of mentions the Wing's offer to him is 5 x $7M and Debrincat has refused to sign that blocking a deal that would have been done at noon EST when Zadina cleared waivers.

I understand he has a newborn and wants to make the most he can for his family but it just isn't there for him right now with the cap situation, he has to come down on his asking price.

Bingo, but Yzerman also needs to be willing to open up his pockets a little bit. He's paying 15+ mil for Copp/Compher/Chiarot. 8-8.5 mil for a guy who would have been second on the team in goais in a DOWN year isn't totally outlandish. I think its going to be fill or kill at 8 X 8-8.25

Can't see the Hawks buying a 4th for 9 million as Joseph is of no use to a rebuilding team like the Hawks and would be a pure cap dump to them.

Those numbers are true, but Vets like Copp/Compher/Chaiarot are not horribly long-term, they will help the prospects, and you could move those without to much trouble when the cap goes up and prospects are ready to take rolls.

Debrincat wants 8 years which is a different story. You absolutely would have to get him for less than Larkin, but also you take in mind deals coming like Raymond & Seider. Are those guys going to be willing to deal in the 8's if they see Debincat at $8 per ? I think Stevey is smart to try and shorten the term and dollar amount. The highest I would go with him is 8 x $8, which is what the sens supposedly offered him and he wasn't interested.

He had a down year with an injury. He does have value at his dollar amount, great speed and great on PK. I hope the sens can find the cap space to keep him.

I will cry if Berggren is in the deal. Where have you seen the reports for him being involved?

If he turned down 8 X 8 from OTT with the understanding that he'd get moved to Detroit, then yeah that's gonna be a no for me, dog. He ain't gonna get that Timo deal

You guys really think Yzerman waited all this time just to give up one of the best rookies from a season ago and a 1st round pick to OTT?

You’re getting Kubalik & a 2nd round pick and possibly a couple more picks.

lol he's 25 and has already made $21,627,500... unless he doesn't know how to manage money (or hire somebody who does), his family is set up for life

Yeah, no that they gave 8 M$ to Perry and Foligno it makes no sense but Joseph at 2.95 would have been a smart pickup for them. But at the same time, they probably just want to tank another year

Berggren + late 1st is a million times more realistic than Kubalik + 2nd

I mean, have you never seen a 25 y/o top liner traded before?
