Rust has a full NMC. He would likely exercise it.

He might not, NSH is a great place to live and has some pieces

If Matt Duchene is a buyout candidate, then I don’t know how much value Rust would have tbh.

I’d rather just keep Sissons. We aren’t planning on contending, so why trade a (supposedly) great locker room guy in Sissons?

Duchene was bought out cause he’s a garbage teammate. Rust is a fantastic one. Trotz would absolutely love Rust. The pens however would hang up immediately cause this trade is garbage.

Didn’t Minnesota buyout Ryan Suter and Zack Parise for being “garbage teammates?” I can’t speak to Suter or Duchene, but I know Parise isn’t a garbage teammate. Duchene isn’t the problem, the organization was. Trotz sent a message because of that. It’s bigger than any one player tho.

I’m not sure why Minnesota bought out Parise and Suter. Other than the fact they were older on big contracts.
But Duchene was bought out and RyJo was traded because Trotz wants a better locker room chemistry for the team.

That’s why I brought up the other two. Either way I wouldn’t Rust at this time tbh.

I agree with this take. Multiple players talk about loving Nashville and there is also no state tax. I’m a penguins fan and I can promise you the average person would rather live in Nashville than Pittsburgh

That was not why Duchene was bought out 💀

Trotz Beau ally addressed this in his last presser. It was intimated that Duchene had grown complacent. He loved Nashville and wanted to retire there, which made the lust for competition leave him. Trotz wants a winning culture, not just a feel good one. That’s why Duchene was bought out

As I said, because he’s a garbage teammate. He doesn’t care about winning. Trotz wants a better locker room chemistry. Guys who play the right way, want to win not only for themselves but for the team too.

He ain’t a locker room cancer lmao. Those rumors were untrue. He just grew complacent in Nashville. That isn’t being a garbage teammate. That’s just being an average person. You’re right on Trotz tho…I’ll give you that

No that is a garbage teammate. When you’re playing a sport and everybody wants to win except 1-2 players who have become complacent. That’s a garbage teammate. Especially when you get paid based on stats so you kinda gotta rely on your teammates having that same drive. He and RyJo got paid and didn’t keep that same drive to produce and win.
