Sabres have enough goalies. Even if they were in the market for one a 30 year old Forsberg would not be the one they would go and get. I mean this is all moot because the Sabres are not going to trade JJ for pretty much anything after how he played last season and at worlds.

Not only is it no, it’s a hell no. Either one of those players are worth more alone than everything Buffalo is getting in return. I’m not sure I would give up JJ for Batherson. Why in the hell would anyone think Buffalo would give him up for a mediocre, crappy goaltender?

I love EK but this is awfully bad for Ottawa

1) they wouldn't trade Shane Pinto for Jakob Chychrun who is 10 years younger. Pinto is worth a high first round pick to them

2) Erik Brannstrom has become quite valuable and is not done rising. JBD is also valuable and needed as RHDs good defensively don't grow on trees

3) 2 first round picks, one that could be good

EK's at 7.5 AAV for 3 years is valuable but also risky with his injury history.

I would do :

2024 1st round pick (OTT)
Erik Brannstrom
Lassi Thomson
Egor Sokolov
2024 4th round pick (DET)

But I would not pay higher than that. If they can get better somewhere else then I encourage them to do so

Forsberg has been nothing short of excellent in Ottawa, he was near Vezina level in 2021-22, being 11th in GSAA (similar to Demko). 0.917 SV% on this team with this coaching staff is quite the feat

He was not as good the following year but still solid despite a highly discombobulated defensive system. His SV% would be quite higher on a good defensive team

And please don't tell me "if he is that good, then why did they sign Korpisalo?"

First Dorion doesn't have a clear idea of what he is doing and he doesn't know **** about goaltending... I mean, he traded 24 y/o Filip Gustavsson for UFA-to-be Cam Talbot just a year ago...

It’s a shame your GM is a complete fool. If Forsburg is half as good as you say, he’ll find a way to give him away too. He’s been part of a rotating goalie carousel in Ottawa. That doesn’t exactly breed confidence for anyone on the outside.

Hard to say what will happen once new management comes in. Korpisalo or Forsberg or both? One thing almost sure is that they'll be the duo this season
