Fantilli Beast Mode and Poachers PSA

Description
I'm all for easing Fantilli in and not giving him more than he can handle, but what if he can handle it all? I kind of have a feeling that he might just dominate camp/pre-season and show that he is a Babcock type of player, forcing the coach to play him on the top line.

Also, for those thinking they can poach a player from CBJ cheap because they have too many guys. All they would have to do is send down Blankenburg and scratch Peeke, Boqvist or Bean. Jarmo isn't going to give away a player for free.

Bemstrom is also likely to be sent down through waivers, which he has cleared before, so I doubt there is a trade market for him anyway. If teams want to give us a 6th or 7th round pick for Bemmer I'd probably take that, or just send him to Cleveland and risk him getting claimed.

why would the flyers move a 2024 2nd for a 2025 2nd without additional cost and when they just got that pick a month ago?

Sending Bennstrom down and risking a waivers loss is crazy when you have Foudy on the roster. I am of the opinion his runway has run out - and is way more likely to clear than Bennstrom.

Interesting you opted to send Sillinger down and dress Voronokov......

I am.of the school of thought the Jackets may not he done reshaping the roster.... they have the talent to make a major move and upgrade at forward. As it sits, this roster just doesn't get close to a playoff spot imo, which would make Jarmo's reshaping the blueline for not...... an opinion not shared by other Jackets fans. But - the organizational depth is there to do it, so if the move makes sense, I think another major move is coming.

It’s the stipulation on the Provy deal that CBJ gets to pick which year the 2nd is in which they will almost definitely opt to take the 2024 2nd making the 2nd we got from them in 2025

Do you see voronkov being ready for the 3c role right away? Or are you predicting him to grow into that role?

Bemstrom has gotten all the opportunity in the world to succeed and has disappointed year after year. He has had top line and top PP chances and done nothing with them. He needs a top 9 role in order to provide anything of value and there are too many other guys on the roster that can do a lot more with that opportunity. Foudy finally looked like he had figured out how to be effective in the NHL in the second half of last year and he was doing it in a 4th line role. If I had to choose one of those guys to lose to waivers it would absolutely be Bemstrom. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if both of them end up sent down to Cleveland to start the year.

I understand the Hype around Fantilli, but i don't think you see him listed as the true 1C for a while.
I forget which one it was, but one of the Sportsnet or TSN podcasts had mentioned the early thinking from the org is that you keep your top 6 built around the idea of keeping
Gaudreau and Laine together
Johnson and Fantiali together
Then you plug in the other two slots as needed and rotate players out. This way you have more like a 1A and 1B line instead of a traditional 1st and 2nd line.
Makes great sence to me.

That's nice that they think that. The top 6 was running far better with Gaudreau on the 1st line and Laine on the 2nd line though. Gaudreau-Jenner-Marchenko Johnson-Fantilli-Laine is likely how things will start out unless they bring in another top 6C.

It could go either way, but I honestly do think he's ready. I thought Marchenko was last year too and didn't need sent down, but some of it is a numbers game, and some is just being extra careful to ease in the foreign players.

Vronk could see the same issue and they give him a handful of AHL games just to help acclimate him to America and the smaller ice, but I really think he's ahead of Sillinger now and a great fit for the 3C role from day one. Just my opinion.

Interesting you seem to have so many opinions on the Jackets' players when you can't even spell half their names.

They sent Bemstrom down last year and he cleared waivers, so it's not that crazy. He's gotten more opportunity than Foudy, and Foudy was a former 1st round pick so he is going to get more chances and would also be more likely to be claimed, so he will stay up.

Foudy also showed much more potential last year, and even if his offensive game doesn't come around, at least he is fast and will hit people, unlike Bemstrom, which makes him a better fit on the 4th line.

I watched a handful of Ak-Bars games last year and Voronkov stood out in every one. He plays a combative style and while not super skilled, knows how to get to the scoring areas and makes a lot of tips and rebounds. He reminds me a lot of Boone Jenner. Sillinger has a great work ethic, but there are major flaws in his game, namely his skating and his ability to anticipate the play. More time in Cleveland would serve him well.

I do think this team has the potential to make the playoffs. Still a lot of "ifs" just like last year, but the talent, toughness and depth are there. I have faith that Babcock can get this team to play to their potential. I guess we'll see.

If we could move Garland and Myers for cap space without burning all our picks I'd be down for bringing in Peeke.

That could very well be the case of the start of the season letting everyone get a feeling for the new line up and the idea of the pairs i mentioned is a future - long term plan.

Chemistry is a funny thing. I don't think it's something you can just plan for. It'll shake out the way the players determine through their play.

Both Marchenko and Laine are snipers, and both Gaudreau and Johnson are brilliant puck carriers and playmakers. One would think that each line would need one of each, but then maybe Johnson and Gaudreau light it up together, or for some reason Marchenko and Laine just click. You just can't predict or plan for these things.
