Pretty straight forward - what is Carter’s injury?

San Jose is already at the contract limit with Karlsson out; Petry, Granlund, 1 prospect coming in (trade example).

Throwing a bunch of junk of SJS isn’t going to get the deal done, likely the opposite.

I don't get these trades. SJ has two options.
1.) Keep Karl and risk regression
2.) Sell low on Karl.

There are two interested teams and neither are super interested. Carolina is looking to bargain hunt and Pit isn't interested in trading their whole future.

A first, salary, a 2nd, and a B prospect. That is what Karl will get. At most.

Barabanov isn't an add-on/sweetener type player. He's a legit top 6 winger on a 2.5 mil contract he'll get a solid return on his own at the deadline with no retention

Does pitt even have a future rn? lol, they have a bottom 5 prospect pool and have 2 years left to try for one last chance at a cup. I haven't read any reports but I don't see why they wouldn't trade (with protection) their next 2 1st in a EK65 trade (a 2nd first cause the amount of salary dumps going back will be extreme).

They won't because no one else is really interested. Carolina has feint interest to see if they can get Karl cheap / push Pesce to sign a more team friendly deal.

If you were buying a new car and you knew no one else was interested, why would you pay more? Offer less knowing they could sell it to you for less or someone else for less or keep it.

Don't bid against yourself.

Pit has a future, if they didn't think they did, they would have traded Pickering and Yager.
