Drury says not even close. Laffy isn't going anywhere, and especially not for that offer.

NYR don't want to trade Laf so you're gonna have to give them a very good reason to. This isn't good enough.

If laf was willing to sign that woth that term I think Drury would've signed it a while ago

What’s the point of trading for Laffy and putting him on 3rd line and on his off side

Buddy why don't you just go make a post of hypothetical Laff trades you would be happy with instead of posting on every single one that it's not good enough. You can literally show people on here what you think they'd want in a trade for him

How about this...I don't....because Laffy isn't being traded and as a Ranger fan, I don't want to trade him. How about that...buddy.

Genuine question, What do you think you are going to get for him? By the way you describe it, it seems like you will get 3 firsts and a bluechip. Obviously that’s exaggeration, but this is a most likely 5-10 pick and a 26th overall from a year ago for a 40 point guy who did absolutely nothing in the playoffs, and you say it isn’t even close?

Don't comment on people making hypothetical trades then. It's the purpose of this site feature, people find it fun to have constructive arguments about players value and come here to do it. Or you actually be constructive and start saying what return you would rather see, either way it's better than just being a baby and crying about people making fantasy trades.

I don't think the Rangers are gonna get anything for him cause I don't see them trading him. Sure he's been disappointing so far yeah but his upside is still there and it wouldn't make any sense for them to trade him for futures now when he's still a useful player to them.

If you want a player a team doesn't want to trade, you're gonna have to overpay.

The trade you offered I think is fair taking into account pure value, but you need to consider the Rangers' circumstances. Although if you're including a cost-controlled forward with upside in the return they'll probably consider that more given that's something they could use for their current plans, Habs don't really have anyone that fits that description though.

How about you comment how you want to and let other people say whatever they want to say? It's not your job to tell others what to do or say. How about that?

Thus far Kent Hughes has traded the first round picks he acquired and not his owned -- Dach for NYI 13th overall (Romanov) and Newhook for FLA 31st overall (Chiarot). If he were to make another trade à la Dach it would be with 2025 CGY 1st. Like a good poker player he's gambling with house money.

I added him to the ignorant list because he only goes off, undermines everyone’s opinions on trades with insults and absolutely zero substance in his comments. Basically a load of hot air unable to figure out what this site is about, and instead of engaging respectfully and seeing a trade open to discussion, he justs goes and posts insults.

As far as your proposal for Laffy goes, personally I think Habs would need to send that 1st pick from Calgary, but NYR would probably ask for a prospect like Owen instead of Mysak, plus Ylonen who can play in the NHL and cost less than 2.5M/yr (probably will hit around 1.5M/yr x 2 or 3..).

While some NYR fans think Laffy is untouchable, he has yet to prove he’s the savior Gorton sold them on when he picked him. But given that Gorton picked him he may overpay for Laffy, hence the two prospects and the 1st pick for a 40pts player who’s late in his development.. He still has value, but not a top 5 pick plus a few valuable top 6 players.

I think that would be fair for Laffy.

Remember the KK offer sheet from Carolina? Why not offer 1-year at 6 million? Lafreniere will agree. How would Rangers match it? They have 2.2 million cap.
Mtl has 1st and 3rd rd picks to comply.
