Severson is incredibly overrated if his contract is anything to go by and the same goes for Korpisalo. Also pretty much everyone knows how good Josi, Andersson, Roy, Sandin, Thomas, Kuzmenko and Stutzle are.

Overpay does not equal overrated.

Gilles was the the all time low of Devils goaltending.

I tried to be as salary-agnostic as possible…but it does influence peoples views.

He ran a mediocre second unit PP on the most offensively gifted team in the entire NHL. He has a tendency to make the big mistake, and last year was the first time his plus/minus was positive. He would be making Brett Kulak money if not for the fact that he’s a righty, just like how Mayfield would make McNabb money if he was a lefty. Right handed defenseman just get grossly overpaid, and grossly overrated too.

I disagree, heavily.

The Devils are gonna miss this transition king.

Severson is only getting $6.25m so I don’t think he qualifies for that argument. His 5v5 play is his strength, especially at d-zone exits. And the +/- change was an indicator of a team that went from 2nd overall pick to 3rd overall in a year…not really a reflection of his as player.

Demko should be here imo. He had 15 bad games while injured and now almost every non Canucks fan thinks he’s a scrub

I almost included him, but wanted less obvious names.

I know he played on a bad Columbus team but Boone Jenner should be on this team.

Funny, I don't recall Severson playing for the Edmonton Oilers.

But I certainly agree that he's overrated. He ended up on the 3rd pair in NJ due in part to the defensive lapses.

Sorry. Sometimes I just think of the Oilers as Draisaitl/McDavid and that’s it. Like how people think Barzal/Sorokin with the isles.
