DALLAS ARE IN A WIN NOW SITUATION. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY STACKED UPFRONT BUT THE DEFENSIVE CORE IS THE PROBLEM IT HAS A LOT OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. SENDING STANKOVEN AND BOURQUE IS HARD BUT LIKE I SAID THEY ARE IN A WIN NOW SITUATION. CALGARY GETS TWO SOLID PROSPECTS WHO WERE 1ST ROUNDERS IN THE PAST COUPLE OF DRAFTS. THEY ALSO ADD A 1ST ROUND PICK ( PROBABLY BETWEEN 24-32) AND JANI HAKANPÄÄ WHO IS GOOD. MOVING SUTER IN THE PLACE OF HAKANPÄÄ MAKED MORE SENS BUT HE HAS NEGATIVE VALUE. I WOULD OF NEEDED TO PAY MORE.

MOVING DADONOV FOR CAP SPACE. WE WERE 2M ABOVE AFTER NOAH HANIFIN DEAL. IT’S NOT GOING TO BE A HUGE LOSS BECAUSE WE HAVE ELITE DEPHT INFRONT.

I think that's a good deal from the Flames side. Don't know if Conroy would agree though, he said he wants the prospect pool to get bigger.

Stankoven and a 1st for a rental would be huge. Conroy would be remiss to decline this.

Running a 20 man squad is suicide, Calgary could retain though. Nit sure why you are dumping Dadonov right after getting him though

That's a huge overpay. If I was Dallas, I wouldn't do Hanifin for Stankoven 1 for 1. Maybe if there was an extension in place at a very good cap hit, but Dallas needs to hang onto these guys to take over for the Benn/Seguin/Pavelski's. Especially when they can be difference makers on ELCs while those contracts are still on the books

Hanifin is a fine 2LHD but jesus this is a big overpay. Two of Dallas’s top rookies and a first is crazy.

Zero chance Dallas gives up Stankoven with that package. Hanifin with an extension could get Bourque and a 1st

That's way too much for Hanafin. Bourque and a 1st I could see if it came with a guaranteed extension.

Flames would accept. Although, you could probably get them to retain some of the difference in Hanifin and Hakanpaa's salary so dumping Dadanov wasn't necessary.

I'm not a fan of retention in ACGMs normally, but the trade is fair and I feel Calgary would retain to make it happen. I also think Hanifin would resign. He's 26 and wants a cup. Dallas is closer to one than Calgary.

Dallas isn’t trading top prospects for a rental. Stankoven is a definite no go. Stankoven, Bourque, AND a first? That’s the type of package that should bring a young franchise player not an older player on an expiring contract
