I think you can get a better return than that for Hanifin and Lindholm that don't require taking back bad contracts.

That first trade seems pretty brutal for Calgary

That trade is bad for both teams. Not what Detroit needs and probably not enough value for Calgary.

Copp's M M NTC undoubtedly would include non playoff teams from western Canada.

Detroit declines immediately.

Hanifin is a left side defender. Detroit don't need LDs, we have the best prospect pool on LD in the entire league.
Vladar is a goalie that would be number four in Detroit.
Lindholm is a better player than Copp but he is a rental and if he extends he would be a lot more expensive that what Copp is. Copp came back from core muscle surgery last season and he scored only 20 points fewer than Lindholm despite that.

So for two players we have no need for and a rental upgrade on centre we would pay:

Berggren - a top-6 winger that is cost controlled for another 5 years.
Copp - a top-6 centre that can move over to LW when Kasper or Denielsson takes over. He is our best PK-player and is cost controlled the next four years.
Lindström - a right shooting defender where we are short staffed for a few more years until ASP and Tuomisto gets going. He fills a role as 7th D and is cheap.
2nd round pick

Why should we pay all that for only one year of Lindholm and two players we have no need for?

Are you out of your mind? Hanifin and Lindholm are two upper-level NHL players and would immediately be two of the Wings best players. Yzerman would accept this immediately and either flip them for better assets or figure out how to extend them, especially in the case of Hanifin.

This is a laughable offer for both of those guys. Hanifin is a #5 OA pick and only 26, like what could you possibly be thinking?

Hanifin is a legit NHL Dman right now lol he's better than every single prospect combined at this point in time. Lindholm is a MUCH better player than Copp, and a RH C. The only actual asset in this trade for us is Berg, but that's a tiny price to pay for those two guys.

It's unbelievable how 99% of the Wings fans on this site have no interest in acquiring good players but will trade horrible assets and think it's enough for guys like Nylander....
