I hope for the best too but I'm fairly certain this is a bit of a reach...

So, where do you think Petry will end up?

Not sure, But it should be somewhere in the East. Both Ekblad and Montour could miss part of the season. Perhaps Florida might be a fit for him.

Petry still has some game left. Suter is an absolute pylon. I'm surprised Jimmy Nill didn't buy him out. But no. Jimmy Nill isn't trading Bourque.

I could see Buffalo or Toronto. Florida as well, although Miami-Detroit is as far as Dallas-Detroit.

The Leafs trade would obviously be cap relief related, eg. Petry at 50% cost less than Brodie.

Doubt he goes to Toronto, Buffalo is definitely a possibility. Detroit to Sunrise is roughly 1,200 miles i think he'd waive for Florida as long as he remains in the East.

I've learned so much about USA Geography on CFACGM and I owe it all to Jeff Petry. Hehe

Lmao why did Petry have to go to Montreal again, we’ll have to deal with sh*t like this for the rest of eternity.

Even though I hate Suter, this is horrible for Dallas.

Nill and management are too high on Bourque to trade him, and I think Petry wants to stay in the east.

Suter won't waive for Montreal since they are destined for the playoffs, I doubt he wants to spend his twilight years on a non-contender.

Now you know what Red Wings fans gave had to put up with on CFACGMs the past few years. Petry Mania running wild. Instead of it being Hulk Hogan it's Jeff Petry ripping off his Habs jersey with a Winged Wheel jersey underneath! Hehe

Suter says no to any Canadian teams. I’ve been told by several people Petry won’t go to Dallas as it’s too far from home. Petry also isn’t nearly enough of an upgrade to ask for a top prospect. Bourque is an easy no go

From what I gathered in previous tries, Dallas could be in fit since Petry’s in-law family resides in Texas, hence what I tried a proposal.

I included Suter since I thought Dallas could me enticed by the idea of swapping him for a more cost-efficient RHD at the expense of futures.

Including both Bourque and a 2024 1st was maybe too optimistic; I’d settle for Bourque only or 2024 1st + mid-rounder.

Alternatively - and less ambitiously - Petry retained for Hakanpaa + 2nd could be explored as well.
