Well from the Sens point of view, it should never be about resigning Nylander...he's an upcoming UFA. It's about Nylander for one season( plus Liljegren and Jarnkrok). and then 24/25. Jarnkrok and Liljegren at about 6m plus 3.5m in cap space in exchange Batherson and Chychrun. Not saying the Sens (or the Leafs) should do the trade.

Yes, I agree that Sens miss the playoff with Nylander, Jarnkrok and Liljgren, but they miss the playoffs with Batherson and Chychrun too.

Sens, who are just entering their competitive window, probably aren't looking to ditch two of their best value contracts for a 1 year go all in move. I'd rather have Bath and Chych next year than Liljegren and Jarnkrok, unless OP is suggesting that Sens win the cup this year with Nylander, which I doubt.

I'm not saying the Sens should do the deal....but don't see how it helps the Leafs either.
But not sure how it it's all in either, Jarnkrok is on a good value contract and Liljegren is now, and likely will be on his next contract too.
I wonder about the Chychrun trade. Was it a first and second for him....for two and one half seasons. Miss the playoffs, last season, likely to miss the playoffs this season. Then in 25/26 it's Chychrun's last seasson.

I question the value of Lil and Jarnkrok, although I admit I don't watch leafs games. But, they both seem to be included in every ACGM from Leaf fans on this site. If they were such good value or had so much potential, why get rid of them, why is every fan so eager to ditch them for whatever named player is popular at the moment on ACGM?

Batherson is a pure playmaker - now that takes the ‘SENs fans are beyond delusional’ cake 😂 today. How can you honestly say that? Do you have any objective proof?
Because the stats certainly don’t support that argument (not even top 50 in assists) and when I watch the Leafs vs SENs, he offers nothing and is only a threat on PP - as a shooter.

It seems to so many that if a Leafs forward isn't up Matthews or Marner standards they are expendable. Same with so many Leaf Dmen.
Liljegren for instance plays 18 minutes a night.... Has good stats, little PP time, what's not to like at 1.4m. Jarnkrok had a fine season with Leafs scoring 20 goals, all at 2.1m
