Not saying that any team involved would 100% do this but on the whole I think the 3 way looks reasonable.
Value going to the Jets seem like one step above the Kuemper package Yotes got from the Avs, which is the strongest comparable to a Hellebuyck trade that I can think of.
I'd want the Devils to pursue Hellebuyck purely as a rental if this is the package required to bring him in.

Buffalo is paying an incredibly heavy price to play the middleman in the Hellebuyck trade. Buffalo is giving up more to give him to New Jersey than New Jersey is giving them.

So Stillman and Vanecek for Krebs and UPL+ 1.5 in salary retention? That’s a no deal for Buffalo. As a middle team you should only gain assets at the expense of cap hit for the trade to make sense. Or am I totally in the wrong?

Remove the retention Winnipeg does and add the extra 1.5 on Buffalo. With this, Krebs gets removed. Devils will have to add something if Winnipeg wants more

It's a 3 way trade, a bad one, but we get stuff

That Hellebuyck trade is pretty awful for Buffalo.

The Devils and Jets should be sending the Sabres something to balance it out maybe, could keep UPL for one.

I think giving Jokiharju away is poor asset management, Johnson and Lybushkin are both UFA's, might need a RHD in a year and injuries happen.

Vanecek isn’t that much better than UPL that a late first round pick balances out losing Krebs too. It’s structured as really bad for Buffalo.

Why is Buffalo retaining in either trade, take the retention out of the Hellebuyck trade and I would do that deal. Vanecek would be a good get for 2yrs at a little over 3mill and Stillman gives me a few more ELC years over Krebs even though I would not like losing him the Sabres have some C in the pipeline.

Devils can't do the trade without retention

A career 2.60 Save % and .910 save percentage isn't much better than UPL ?

Foligno is a bit of a gamble since he was hurt most of last season and didn't have a good year, but I'd rather keep him on the Wild unless they're out of a playoff spot and they're trading him for futures.

Not enough for a 1st rounder between 22-26 to be enough to make up for losing Krebs.
