Fair point, I believe Holtz may be in for a breakout campaign this season if given T6 minutes, and could blossom into an elite sniper. The 1st could be used to acquire someone (maybe Laughton) and you also save 2 million this season and add a 2-way stud. At the end of the day, I believe Nylander will be re-signed, if not, I think this scenario could benefit both sides as Leafs get a 2-way RD stud, a player with massive upside, and draft capital, Devils get yet another game-breaker putting them as probable cup favourites and also get a young RD in Liljergren.

NJD would never give up Mercer unless Nylander is signing a significant discount or Toronto is retaining on a sign and trade. We have only scratched the surface with the kid.
