Ovechkin is quite a bit more valuable IMO

Really? I personally think Stamkos is better...I know that's unpopular, just my opinion though. Stammer is younger too

Stamkos 33 yo 84 and 106 pts
Ovi 38 yo 75 and 90
Stamkos still also plays center a good portion of the time and one of the better face-off guys in the league

Maybe about 5 years ago. Now, with Ovi being 38 it's hard to see TBL trading Stamkos for him, who's 5 years younger.

Caps are getting the better end of the deal here in terms of on ice production. The value of ovechkin lies mainly in his chase for Gretzky. Still a 40+ goal player though. Stamkos is better and younger however.

The Caps would say no on principle of who you are asking for. Ovi means more to not just the Caps, but DC as a whole, than most athletes who have played in this city. There are few athletes that have given as much to our region as Alex has.
