Dude... CM just had a solid year but he's not needle mover for a first round pick and solid prospect. And all that to replace Beau who offers just as much as a winger as CM. If Van moves their first, it will be a move for a big time player.

Casey has been maligned since his first full season.
While he did really well last season, he was able to score 16 goals and 41 pts over his previous 81 games, so it was not that large of a change as one may think.
IMO, playing on the third line he should be able to contribute 18 goals and 50 pts.
This would be an over payment with all things considered, and Buffalo should absolutely accept this deal if it were offered to them since Buffalo has several other center prospects in the pipe line.
Beauvillier would be a decent replacement and Podkolzin is decent prospect.

So basically a first in 25, plus beauvillier and podkolzin. Sure why not. Beauvillier is just a year rental, and podkolzin is an rfa at years end.

Don't see VAN moving a 1st round pick and Podkolzin.
