Realistically, Detroit would be getting rid of Chiarot. Do not think we'd demand anything in return, let alone a defenseman.

The fact this post was created by an Avs fan is truly.......something.

To responding seriously to a very unserious post, if and when we do trade Girard it will almost certainly be a cap move and we won't be able to take anything more back than picks and entry-level deals.

Now to go back to unserious: I want to see a Josh Manson/Ben Chiarot pairing on the Avs. Only then will we truly know Georgiev's worth.

lol agreed. Idk tho if we did trade Girard I'm sure there's a team out here somewhere willing to at least give a depth guy who eats only half or less of Girard's salary.

I would also like to point out that, yes, beef does get it done in the playoffs. But you can't tell me that Girard isn't part of that our defensive beef.

We're not taking on a $5,000,000 Girard and then retaining $750,000 on Chiarot. Detroit passes. Plus we don't need another smaller LHD.

Jack Johnson has outplayed G the last two playoffs. IMO this is not coincidence.

A Chiarot/ Holl pairing could ruin the Red Wings entire franchise! 😲
