Dude… Desmith AND Kovacevic plus a third for Beauvillier and Spencer????? I don’t think this would ever happen. While Beauvillier is from Qc he always is in the minuses without a 50 pts season since he started and Spencer isn’t worth a 6th at this point with stats of: 3.99 & 0.871 in the AHL… Kovacevic is in the pluses with a bottom team, and DeSmith is in the 0.900+ in the NHL.

Kovacevic will stay put since he’s a Hugues player acquisition, and is showing some very good potential at his age, same for DeSmith who may become a no 2 option if Allen ain’t ready at 100%.

For the quality coming back, no way Habs pay on top of this. VAN would need to pay up considerably to even consider thinking about the player switch you’re proposing. I’m thinking like ridiculously more to even consider, which VAN wouldn’t pay since they want to keep those 1st and 2nd round picks..

Ps. Not saying DeSmith and Kovacevic are worth a high 1st or 2nd.. just saying to grab Beauvillier and Spencer.. I think Hugues would need something in that line to even consider losing those two against those guys.. And VAN won’t pay that for sure.

The Hawks decline. There's really nothing to that offer that's appealing. An aging tweener, a depth LD and a 24 year old forward that's yet to put things together at the NHL level. I think the Hawks keep their 21 year old prospect and the 5th round pick.

Kovacevic contract alone is worth gold. You can add a solid defenseman at the minimum cost. I bet that at the deadline there team that could pay the price. Just like Tampa did for Coleman and Goodrow. He got another year on is deal. Could be a very valuable pieces.

Yeah but Tampa’s first round picks were basically 25+ rows down. So almost equals to a 2nd round pick. VAN could potentially be in the top 10 or better, so while I like Kovacevic, I don’t think he’s worth a top 10+ plus. Gotta be a bit more realistic of his worth from my perspective at least.

Someone at TDL going for the cup may pay it, but it’s gonna be a low pick ..

Hawks decline. Three more spare pieces isn't what the Hawks need or want. I'm not sure any of those guys make it on the opening night roster in Chicago. Rather keep Luypen and see how he develops.

That for sure, the purpose of trading for Kovacevic is to add depth for a team who think they can go all the way. If Vancouver isn’t in contending position they have no incentive to trade for him at that cost. A first for Kovacevic is a long shot. Maybe a 2nd and another assets.

No they don't, they didn't trade wingers away just to bring in more of them

1) DeSmith would not pass Waivers but Spencer will and we will need another goalie in Laval
2) Kovacevic was a pleasant surprise as a waiver wire pickup, but let's not start talking about him as a regular on the Habs. He's destined to get traded to make room for others so we might as well get an asset back. He's a #7 so he's not bringing back a big return
3) Beauvillier is a good player who can contribute something this season on the Habs and be flipped at the deadline

We would accept Pettersson or Lekkerimaki instead of Beauvillier. Bro though Barron has the same value as Kovacevic… We still decline tho
