What is this so called value you speak of hes a 23 yo who just got 14 points in 62 games and isnt going to crack your lineup his value is very low as of now and it will not grow if you dont play him I think a flippable goalie a 4th and a cap dumb is extremely fair for foudy as of now and as for the no space argument you do have space for both players Columbus has 2 roster spots available meaning if they did this trade they would still have one left over
Wings coming into camp: Gaudreau, Laine, Johnson, Marchenko, Texier, Chinakhov, Danforth, Robinson, Olivier, Voronkov, Foudy, Bemstrom
Centers coming into camp: Jenner, Fantilli, Sillinger, Roslovic, Kuraly, McKown (with considerable overlap here with the wings as well as Danforth, Voronkov, and Texier can play passable center and Roslovic and Jenner are probably better served as wings)
Tell me again where Armia fits. If Foudy gets squeezed out--which he probably will--oh well. But sending him out to get negative value assets is worse than losing him to waivers. Yes, sucks to lose a young player who got screwed over in his development by Covid, but Columbus does not have a roster spot or two to waste on Joel Armia when they've got plenty of bodies already under contract who cost less.
