I promise you that if you took both 1sts out, the Canadiens still wouldn't do it. Personally, I'd consider it in that context, but Habs management likes Anderson a lot and Boeser isn't the kind of player they'd be interested in.

I don't see Brock Boeser wearing a Habs jersey.
Trade decline.

At this point Habs fans, just report posts that show Anderson being a cap dumb as trolling. Hes not a cap dump. Might be overpayed but that doesnt mean hes devoid of all value.

Hes worth a decent amount if the Habs take salary back or retain. Being ignorant of that makes you look stupid and incredibly biased.

If you have looked at the market, much better players are going for next to nothing because of high cap hits. Anderson is absolutely not worth 5.5 million dollars. Unless they max retain for several years, he has no value.

You wouldn't want the younger, better player whose contract ends sooner and you get freed up cap space? Wild...

If Anderson is worth a 1st, then Boeser is worth 3 definitely. Younger, much better player. Anderson is one of the few players that makes Boeser's defensive game look ok. Boeser's career low in points is nearly the same as Anderson's career high

Boeser is shorter, doesn't skate as fast in a straight line, doesn't hit as much and has never fought Chara. Basically makes them equal in value to NHL GMs

Boeser is 6'1. Anderson is 6'3. Are you seriously trying to tell me that his height makes that much of a difference? Anderson is barely top 100 in hits. He is basically a good fourth liner making top 6 money

I seriously don't understand why Habs fans glorify Anderson. Literally what has he done to make all of you so in love with him? He doesn't produce, doesn't play defense, doesn't hit as much as you think he does. Sure he is fast, but it seems like he is just out there doing cardio a lot of the time. And at 5.5, I'm surprised you are upset that he is eating up your cap space

Watch some habs games, then go back here. Also, this deal is much closer with Kuzmenko over Boeser. Since when is Boeser worth 2 first and a third (in value, acquisition cost is different)

I have watched quite a few Habs games, and other than skate around and throw a hit once in a while, he doesn't provide much. This deal is likely just a troll to show how ridiculous the Josh Anderson trades have been

Why do y’all love Demko? I mean, he has pretty average stats (except one elite year). You love him because you know what he can bring. He can be clutch. Just like Anderson. In the 2021 playoffs, he had 6 goals, but those 6 goals were all pretty important. Plus, in the last decade, habs players have been thrown around by other players. Anderson is our first player to be big and talented. He give his energy to the crowd and his teammates. He fight for them. Now you know why we love him.

Also, 80% of Anderson trades are made by other teams fans, 19% are trolls to trigger other fans and that last 1% is habs fans that makes these trades. We are as tired as you are of those trades. You don’t want Anderson. We don’t want to trade him

Demko’s advanced stats have been very good-elite apart from the 15 games he was playing while injured. And that’s despite playing in front of a mostly terrible defense and PK his whole career

Anderson meanwhile has played at a 0.5 PPG pace once in his career. Only 14 points in 43 playoff games. Awful at passing the puck. Awful defensively

Demko had 1 good advanced stats season. The rest, he had very bad advanced stats

Demko at 5v5
20/21: .925 SV%, 6.67 GSAA, 7.89 GSAx
21/22: .933 SV% (3rd best), 26.42 GSAA (1st), 19.81 GSAx (3rd)
22/23: .920 SV%, 4.43 GSAA, 7.14 GSAx
22/23 after return from injury: .930 SV%, 7.72 GSAA, 8.22 GSAx

All situations
20/21: .915 SV%, 8.03 GSAA, 8.7 GSAx
21/22: .915 SV%, 15.01 GSAA, 7.3 GSAx
22/23 Healthy Games: .918 SV%, -1.92 GSAA, 9.86 GSAx

Very good advanced stats for the most part, but his overall numbers have been brought down by our historically bad PK. If he was on a team like Carolina or Colorado that actually had a competent defense, I think he’d be considered a Vezina candidate year in year out and be grouped into the top tier of goalies
