I'd rather move Joseph. Even if he plays better this year, he is still the 4th line winger and he is paid too much for that.
4th liners don't put up 36 pts paces in a defensive role.
Joseph scored 30 pts at ES or PK in 69 games in 2021-22. Last season, in a down year, he still paced for 26 pts. He's a 3rd liner, PK specialist, pretty good defensively and on the forecheck.
His career pace is 30 pts per 82 games, and that includes a lot of time buried on Tampa's depth

In a vacuum I agree, however given the cap crunch Joseph will take a 2nd round pick at minimum to move. It's better not to trade away assets needlessly.
Joseph is better than kubalik in a lot of ways. He has been a better 5v5 producer. He is great defensively and on the penalty kill.
We have no room on our powerplays for Kubalik. We need more pk forwards.
Exactly. Tarasenko signing made Kubalik redundant

Kubalik scored 13g/15A EV last season. Joseph scored 0g/12A at EV. How is Joseph a better producer?
I don't get it. Our bottom 6 was terrible at goal scoring last season. It's all everyone talked about. Kubalik helps fix that. Now we want to trade him because he's not perfect at everything? If he was, he'd be a top line player. Every player has flaws in their game. You know what Joseph is not great at? Scoring goals and not coasting after getting paid.
ES scoring rate (pts/60) over the last 2 years... Joseph had 30 pts on PK + ES in 69 games in 2021-22. Kubalik only had 23 ES pts in 78 games that season. Joseph is much better defensively and one of the best PK forwards in the NHL.
I'd really like to have Kubalik on the team, but it's not possible. Dorion chose to have Tarasenko and Korpisalo with some of the 9.0 AAV created by trading DeBrincat. Kubalik is the odd man out
