I've done purposely bad trades to point out the ridiculous of other bad trades and this may be even worse than those 🙄.

Canes = Hard Pass!

Yotes = Hard Pass with a good belly laugh. No need for an over the hill Brodie, a pile of mid. The 1st has value but not for a good middle six power forward and a custom-built 4th line center.

Canes pass. Nylander is good, but including Necas & Pesce for him is overkill. Necas overall has more value than Nylander, to me - he might not score as much as Willie, but he plays a more premium position and is younger with more team control. At the very least, they're a wash - so adding Pesce while the Canes only get back a warm body and a 3rd rounder makes this a terrible deal for Carolina.

Coyotes also pass. Don't forget that both McBain and Crouse made an active choice to stay in Arizona (Crouse with the extension, and McBain by agreeing to sign there before his draft rights expired), so I don't think Arizona is going to take anything but a major overpay to move those guys. I don't think this is that - a 33 year old pending UFA, a 32 year old bottom-6er, and a prospect made of glass don't feel like anything that moves the needle for Arizona. Holmberg is an interesting prospect but I'd argue he has more value to Toronto than Arizona, and the 1st round pick being several drafts away doesn't tip the scale enough to make Arizona consider.
