That top pairing doesn't work. Both great D but they can't play together.

Also cap wise, likely need to find a way to fit in a 13th forward. Imagine a road trip where a F gets hurt, not going to be ideal.

Why does TO make this trade? They don't need an offensive defenceman, they have a better one in Rielly and Pageau is an overpaid bottom 6 player on the wrong side of 30. Hardest of passes
