If one of Dahlin/Thompson/Power/Cozens aren’t included then no chance

Fantastic player, a lot of future to give up. And with Dahlin's and Powers Extension kicking in. That could be over 30mill on 3 players.

It seems like we get hit twice. We are giving up 4 firsts in value, plus whatever jokiharju is worth, to then sign a player to a 12 million dollar long term contract. That 12 million dollar contract could lead to dahlin or power getting poached at some point. There is no way the Sabres would do this. Rather use the assets to find a real upgrade on d, or maybe some improved forward depth.

Yeah, can't see that happening. I mean we have both Thompson and Cozens signed long term for a little over 14mill.

Then you can't really expect to get Pettersson

Guess it depends on what your GM wants. And Pettersson can basically walk himself into FA if he chooses, that could affect the return. Sabres could throw a pretty decent package on the table if they wanted even without including any of those players.

Can he walk himself to UFA? Yeah sure maybe in 2 years. Whens the last time a star player has done that though? Sabres can absolutely make a competitive offer, but that offer is going to have to include one of your top assets

Think 2 of the Top 80 Prospects in the NHL and another JJ Peterka that would probably be up there to if he wasn't already playing on Cozens wing is a nice start.

Top 80 prospects aren't exactly show stopping pieces when acquiring a top 8 center in the league

That's not what a trade would look like. The point would be that Buffalo is ready to go for it, and is in a position to trade high end futures, to a team that is looking to rebuild. There would be no point for us to borrow from Peter to pay Paul here, regardless of value. Honestly Vancouver would be better off talking to a team that's desperate for a #1c, not a team that has Thompson and cozens locked up long term for 14 million combined.

Again depends on what your GM wants. Pettersson is a very good player. Sabres already have 2 C locked up that are not far behind Pettersson. Cozens might actually be better in a Couple years. I would love Pettersson but the Sabres don't need to trade any of those players for him. And yes then probably No trade.

That's a lot for Buffalo to gut out to acquire Petey, and given Power and Dahlin are due pay raises I can't see it benefiting the team.

Also Stars seem to be into Delly so probably no deal on that.

The Sabres could afford the cost in the op. They would still have- cozens, power, Quinn, kulich, Rosen, Wahlberg, strbak, and Levi that are all 23 or under. But it's still cost. And a 12 million dollar per extension doesn't exactly sweeten the deal. There's still a cap, you could make the case the both Thompson and cozens are at least as valuable on the market- just because they are signed for 7per long term. Pettersson is obviously a special player at (probably) the most important position, somebody that needs a center would be a better target.

Sabres fans know we aren’t making a trade like this,
which is why u don’t see us propose them

It’s absurd, & we know it

It’s great that the Sabres are a “cool” team now that other team’s fans are taking interest in,
but this is what happens- & it’s kind of annoying

These Video game trades just aren’t realistic & shows the lack of understanding outsiders have for HOW we are building this team

There’s obviously no way Adams does something like this
He may call, & do his due diligence, like he has with many of the big names….
But I’ll believe he’s willing to make a big trade like this when i actually see it happen

Until then, it’s just fantasyland nonsense
