Hawks would probably make that deal but I think from a Leafs perspective they would want to wait until the trade deadline to see if Raddysh can repeat or improve on last season’s numbers.

While I agree trading Knies would be a bad decision. Tanev a ****ty defender? That is certainly a take.

AZ easy pass - the 2 very late picks (when have 14 already are useless) and McBain v Jamkrok - easy call stick w McBain - 8 years younger, C, cheaper, RFA, better scoring in rookie year, led F's in league for hits. AZ pass pass pass

****ty defender? He's been the #1 shutdown defenseman in the entire league over the last 3 years. Toronto isn't trading Knies but educate yourself a bit on who you are bad-mouthing

If the picks are higher and Tanev comes with an extension it would be considered but most likely still a no

I know he wasn’t the best defensive defender last year that was Brodie

Over the last 3 years, like how McDavid is the best player in the world over the last 5 years despite not winning the Hart every year.

Over the last 3 years at 5v5 Tanev ranks:
2nd in CA/60 (behind teammate Weegar)
1st in SA/60
7th in GA/60
1st in xGA/60
1st in SCA/60
1st in HD CA/60
14th in HD GA/60

Then he also ranked in Defensive WAR over the last 3 years
1st in 20/21
2nd in 21/22
3rd in 22/23
He's the only defenseman to finish top 5 in Defensive WAR all 3 years and 1 of 4 to do it in 2/3 years (Brodie, Weegar, and Carlo being the other 3)
