While I personally don't think he's good enough to warrant the attachment, I don't see the Rangers moving Schneider for anything in the Flyers org short of Cutter Gauthier or Matvei Michkov. Maybe Travis Konecny?

Take back mantha, swap Protas for Lapierre, and I think the caps do it.

I feel like those two would be an overpayment for Schneider. Plus they have no RD depth to place him if he’s gone

I love Schneider but he has a lot of growing to do. Defensemen take a while to hit their potential and hopefully by the time he does, he takes Trouba’s spot when his contract is up

That is way too high of a price for Schneider. Guy's a fine player but to give up your best prospects or your best forward selling piece for his RFA rights is extreme.

It wouldn’t make sense for the caps to give nearly that much up for one year of Konecny then. The UFA market will be insane and the cap is going up. If that trade I wrote out happened early this season, it would make sense for the caps imo. This is probably the peak of Konecny’s value considering the flat cap will no longer be a thing after this year and he has a little term on an amazing deal.

I mean yes and no because his deal will probably be about the same % of the cap since the cap will jump into the 90’s probably by the time he starts whatever new deal he gets. I don’t believe this will be TK’s peak value. I think a lot of teams value him highly but also consider that last season was his best season. I think if TK has another record year or even similar to last year and shows he can sustain that PPG number then his value will increase even more

Rangers need Schneider a lot more than they'd need Laughton, he's a 3rd line caliber forward who, something they already have a surplus of. Easy decline.

To be clear, i don't think that it's a fair trade or that he's worth that. He's not. At all.

I just don't see the Rangers moving Schneider for something short of a severe overpay. And those are really the only pieces in the Flyers org. that'd constitute that level of an overpay imo
