Korpisalo struggles in front of bad team defence and in front of good offenses just like Campbell (both of whom struggled in the playoffs before their contract)… And that’s why he got lit up in RD1… Just like Murray and Talbot

Coaching needs a major change too and Pinto is not signed to a contract… Even if he was though, depth and that RD side looks sketchy… And I am not a believer in that top 6… I’ve been consistent about that since before I joined this site

Overall, they should go out and get Gallant IMO and trade Korpisalo while he still has value and go get a better goalie like Hellebuyck for this year

I mean he had a .913 sv% last year on a dreadful blue jackets team and did well with LA, until the playoffs. I don’t think he’ll be an all star but should be good enough for them and all they really need is average. Coaching I 100% agree with you, think either DJ needs to adapt or need to replace. I’m not too worried about there depth, it’s actually improved from last year believe it or not lol I would’ve loved getting Hellebuyck but I think he won’t sign in Canada so I understand not going for him. I would’ve overpaid for Saros though for sure if they hadn’t signed Korpisalo!

They didn’t play their first game together until March. On a new system and bad defense. Bring in players who can play actual defense and oel should have a better year than last year. Montour be back in a month they’ll be just fine. They’re gonna over take Boston. They aren’t having that year they had last year.

I’m not a huge OEL fan, I think he’s below average if I’m being honest. I think they’ll be good, just not great, more of a bubble team than a playoff lock. Also don’t think Maurice is that great of a coach, lots of small successes and average.

Can't see Tampa finishing below Boston or FLA.
They still have like half a dozen top players lol.

It's tough for me, man - the reaper always shows up in the end, I'm just not sure if this is the year. But they lost a handful of key guys from last year's team (Alex Killorn, Ross Colton, Ian Cole, Corey Perry, Pat Maroon) and didn't bring in the most exciting replacements (Logan Brown, Luke Glendenning, Calvin de Haan). I'm sure they're not quite dead yet, but I think we started seeing the first cracks in the armor last year.

5/6 of their top-6 guys are VERY GOOD.
They have a good top-4, too.
They also have Vasilevskiy.

Not wrong at all - I wouldn't put money on them being bad this year, but at the same time I think we're closer to the end than the beginning of their dynasty run at this point, with how their depth has been depleted. Think back to the bubble season, the year Kucherov missed the whole regular season and came back for the playoffs - they were able to weather that storm because they had guys like Ondrej Palat, Yanni Gourde, and Killorn around to pick up the slack, plus Vasilevskiy absolutely standing on his head.

Now, if one of their top-6 forwards gets hurt, it's guys like Michael Eyssimont and Tanner Jeannot that need to figure out how to become 50-60 point guys over night. And Vasilevskiy looked surprisingly human against the Leafs in last year's playoffs. Again, not saying I think they collapse, but you can definitely start to see the ways that it could all fall apart.

We will find out. I think he’s better than who’s he’s replacing in Marc staal and mahura. He’s good for a short term in a couple years he probably start to fizzle as we saw on his last two teams.

I’m not convinced with Korpisalo… Unless he proves me wrong. I was sort of binging the Oilers-Kings series ( as it was usually after the Leafs game) and Korpi was letting in goals that were very questionable… As for depth, OTT currently doesn’t have their 3C signed and, like last year… They can’t survive with 1 player in their top 6 hurt…

This Sens team is a ‘believe it when I see it’ type team for me

Yeah that’s fair! I’m hoping Norris can be healthy but who knows with that shoulder, been injured a couple times already! I guess we’ll see haha!
