I could see him signing with the Marlies. Same with Frasca

Minten is going to be so good. The kid's already NHL ready with his defensive game.

I'd put Niemelä in that first group.

Mike Koster is one of my favorite NCAA players to watch. He is a long shot, but fun to watch play.

I can see him becoming a solid NHLer at the very least. He could really surprise though once he grows a bit.

He's already reliable defensively and has no problem joining the rush.

I'm still not sold on his size. Also Treliving admitted himself that he likes defensemen that have some weight and are big

I think he'll need some seasoning in the AHL first but yeah he could be really good

Sounds like he would make for a good candidate for the next "guy that we needed and had but traded away".

Cowan is a future 3rd liner lol.

Hildeby is a future hall of famer

Niemla sucks, he couldn't hold his stick nevermind play hockey. I'd trade him for whatever we can get.

But talent can trump size. Look at Detroit it's no secret he likes big Dmen and he drafted ASP in the 1st round. ASP and Niemelä are listed as the same height but ASP a bit heaver.

Wouldn't get much for him if he sucks, but the whole point thst I wss making is that he probably turns out elsewhere if not in Toronto. It's too early to write him off.

Why would you want a 5th for Voit?

I think and hope you're right, but honestly, if we're just basing it off the rookie tournament so far, he shouldn't be there. And I say that as a HUGE fan of Niemela and a believer in his potential. It hasn't been his best showing and what irks me is that it's been what I thought were his greatest strengths (intelligence, positioning, and puck management) that haven't reflected well on him.

The "can we get our draft pick back" section is brutal.

Small and undersize unfortunately. Dubas wasted a draft pick when he could have traded it to make the team deeper

Nah there are some low risk guys that could still have some worth. Voit is certainly skilled enough. Tverberg and Hiro as well look like they could eventually be NHLers. No stars that's for sure but cheap depth from later picks is never a bad thing.

You only see size eh? Write off anyone under 6 feet and 200 lbs immediately

That's what I mean. The list is brutal, not the players on it.

Voit has a better shot at the NHL than most 5th rounders do

Well the guy who posted this is basically Brian Burke so he'll immediately think anyone under 6' and 200lbs is too small to ever play.
