A Pinto trade

Created by: Falcon_talon
Team: 2023-24 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 18, 2023
Published: Sep. 18, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know you guys are more than likely bored of Pinto trades but this one I feel could benefite both sides. He also could play the wing beside Staal and both would be on the 3rd line.

Trades
CAR
  1. Pilon, Garrett
  2. Pinto, Shane [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Pilon is only there because of his Legendary name and I wanted to showcase it. He isn't acctually part of the trade lmao.
OTT
  1. Chatfield, Jalen
  2. Drury, Jack
  3. 2026 4th round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Ottawa has expressed not wanting picks and wanting players. Drury could help their 4th line look a lot better as he is a good center who can play the wing and can develop (if given the chance) into a good bottom 6 to efficiant middle 6 player. Chatfield is a player that frankly I don't see the canes keeping past this year and would very much help the defensive depth on Ottawa and baisically help secure that wildcard seed. Drury is under team control and Chatfield will more than likely come with a 2mx4 extention. The pick was just to sweeten the deal and can be taken out if it is an overpay.

Dont see how Carolina has the room on their roster. Their top9 already has a ton of options. Bumping Staal doesnt seem ideal.

Needs a much better pick. Like lottery protected first imo. Chatfield unnecessary.

Like I said in the description He could play on Staal's wing or vice versa.

I'm not sure Pinto is worth that much he is young but he had 35 points as a 22 y/o and hasn't really grabbed people by the ears and said hey I'm here. Notice me. He definetly isn't worth a 1st and if he is a 1st would get better things than Pinto imo.

Really? Chatfield really upgrades your 2nd or 3rd pairing and has some shorthanded ability/offensive ability and would be useful for you guys. Drury like I said can develop into something better. And the canes are never confortable moving out a 1st. If we need a 1st then the canes'd rather get a bigger name with higher potential instead of Pinto. I mean tell me please what you want for him and then I can figure out a price that'd work for the Sens and the Canes

Gonna say your undervaluing him but it is what it is. He scored 20 goals as a rookie and the Sens were much better with him on ice. I can't find the tweet but the difference with him vs without was eye catching.

And how does it benefit the Sens exactly?

Sure, Sens decided to give their 12th OA pick to acquire Chychrun a few months ago instead of Pinto but yeah Pinto is not worth a 1st...

Upgrades the 2nd or 3rd pairing? How? Kleven and JBD are already waiting in line...

Chabot - Chychrun
Sanderson - Zub
Brannstrom - Hamonic
Kleven - JBD
Thomson/Guenette

I just saw his stats again and I never saw the 20 goals and Your right I am undervaluing the guy. He had 20 in his rookie season. The reason I never saw that was because I saw 35p and was like ok so a 10 goal scorer I'll keep that in mind and try to remake the trade.

Yeah I'm sorry never saw he was a 20 goal scorer that changes things in my head. Should've taken a closer look and thats on me. What I saw was 35p and assumed he was 10g 25a player Now that I see that the value is definetly off by a decent bit. That's my fault I should've looked closer at the stats.

I'd do this, but Pinto has the stench of Warren Foegele. He's never been good offensively at any level and there are reasons to believe that he will regress next year whether you look at his shooting percentage, mediocre underlyings, or just the general meh he seems to give off. He had 20 goals, but he was also playing with WAY better linemates than he will in most places because he shouldn't be a 2C. It's only because Norris' injuries he got that chance.

It's not really the 20 goals for me, or for the Sens. It's more the projectability. He projects as Cirelli/Danault level player. These are heavily relied upon by coaches

Alright. I didn't watch much of the sens last year so I wouldn't know.
