Nashville shouldn't go out for Necas because we're already full on RW. And Askarov shouldn't be moved either.

That is a colossal price for Lindholm, and I'm very weary of giving 60pt centers 8m+ on extensions.

Vegas won't move Stephenson. He's extremely underrated.

And the Buffalo trade is fine but I can't see them trading Middlestadt

I don't really understand why Carolina - a cup contender - would trade one of their best players for a goalie prospect, a past-their-prime winger, and two draft picks. I get Askarov is good, but they look set in net for this season and beyond. That trade just doesn't make contextual sense...

Carolina's goaltending situation confuses me. They gave Kochetkov money and term that a young goalie with that little NHL experience usually never gets, indicating they were supremely confident that he'd be their goalie of the future. But then they go out and re-sign both of their old and often injured NHL goalies. Plus they've got more goalie prospects stashed on their reserve list than any other team. They're in their Cup window, but didn't upgrade on their starter. They have all this youth they need to develop, but brought back their antique tandem. I don't see the method to their madness, when acquiring an upgrade on Andersen and promoting Kochetkov to backup seems like it would have made the most sense.

Regardless, the proposal doesn't make sense for either team. CAR doesn't need futures right now - especially in net, and NSH isn't going to move their top prospect+ for Necas.

I think NSH passes on all four trades.

A lot of odd moves here.

Carolina is pretty set in goal for a while and Askarov is the Preds future. Not to mention the Canes are contending
Like Carolina Vegas is contending Stephenson is far more valuable to them
I would say the Buffalo trade is an overpay. Mitts and Fabbro probably have similar value
Calgary trade is ok, they will probably want a (protected) 1st and a center prospect like Svechkov though

Oh well, Mittelstadt is highly valued here. I doubt Sabres are moving him, but this package is something.

I think the CGY trade is too much for Lindholm already.

Hopefully NSH's legacy of overpaying for 1B centers ends with Trotz.

You are welcome to think it's an overpayment but there aren't that many centers in the league better than Lindholm, especially that might be available in the next 5 years

Even if you think Lindholm is one of the top 25-30 centers, for how many more years of an 8 year extension do you think he'll still be in that range?

I think he's top 15 actually. And I would he can stay top 25 (assuming players like Bedard and such pass him) for at least 4 of those 8 years. He will probably age very similarly to your new 1C. He will continue to remain an effective shutdown center and eventually take up more of a middle 6 job.

If the Sabres hadn't signed Clifton, I would probably do this deal. But not now.

Necas is a 70pt+ winger, they're not giving him up for spare parts.
The only enticing piece is Askarov. But, why would Carolina need him?
They're in win-now mode with Anderson, Raanta, and Kochetkov.
Kochetkov is their goalie of the future. Askarov would be the #4G on the depth chart.
