Helly will get more money if it is for only 4 years, espicially if the cap goes up 4 to 5 million.

I would give a 4th rd pick plus retention to get RID of him
Allen is an asset for a team going into the playoffs as a solid 2G

I don't like buying out players with large salaries. The buyout carries over a couple of years and eats the cap. If his salary was $1M then it makews sense

You aren’t getting any picks for Allen, Armia, or Dvorak, you’d have to pay to dump those contracts

Hellebuyck said he wanted a Vasy-type contract next year. Long term, big money. So he's not going to another Canadian city (Idk if it matters, but based on many other American players, it would be a good bet that it does) for short term and low money for what he's worth.

I think he is laughing because all of the players you propose trading "to any team for picks" are cap dumps that MTL would have to pay other teams to take.
