We just never want the prospects in the line up I'm guessing

I liked him with the Leafs. Good bottom 6 guy, wish him the best. Lord knows Detroit could use some defense

You want them getting 10 minutes a night and rotating as healthy scratch in Detroit or 20 minutes in Grand Rapids in all situations?

It's not an either or question, they can play them as much as they want too

I'm a little surprised it took this low for him to sign.

If you are suggesting that the signing of Aston-Reese is preventing any of the young players from getting PT then it is just 4th line/scratch roles. If they were top 9 forwards this signing wouldn't have any impact.

Yzerman wants them to play and win as a group before bringing them up. It's not like we are a playoff team this season.

Nope but either way, this is a great pickup. ZAR won’t be hurting any prospects chances of making it to the NHL. Its the Copp, Holl and Chiairot signings that are in the way. Eventually Coempher as well but I feel like he could be a better fit.

I thought Carolina had him on a PTO. I assumed they would sign him because with Svechnikov still out, they could use a little more forward depth. I guess they weren't impressed by what he did in camp, but Detroit was.
